New screenshots showing off Sony’s recently announced PlayStation 4 have been released, giving gamers a new insight into what they will be gazing at come release day.
Sony’s PlayStation 4 announcement is still fresh in the mind, but that hasn’t stopped the Japanese hardware maker from pushing out a timely reminder of what gamers can expect to see when the PS4 goes on sale this Holiday season.
Rather than show off new, polygon-tastic games, Sony’s PlayStation PR machine has decided to give gamers some idea as to what they will be staring at when not actually playing by releasing some high resolutions screenshots.
The images themselves depict a wide range of menus, with social aspects as well as the inevitable mobile integration that we’re all looking forward to getting to grips with.
Those wanting to see more shots of the home screen, or perhaps media and sharing screens are in luck, as they are just some of the PS4 screens that Sony has released today.
Sony’s PS4 is the talk of the digital town right now, with Nintendo’s Wii-U not performing as well as the company would like, and Microsoft is yet to announce the replacement for its hugely successful Xbox 360. Sony needs a hit after a lackluster PlayStation 3 showing in a changing gaming environment. Many would claim that console gaming is no longer the draw it once was, and that tablet and smartphone games are the future. Even Sony’s portable PlayStation, the Vita, has suffered from a severe lack of traction since its release. The PS4 will no doubt have Sony’s hopes firmly pinned on it later this year.
Sony’s new gaming console will hit store shelves this holiday season according to the recent announcement by the company. but we don’t know yet as to whether it will be the only new machine on everyone’s Christmas list. With Microsoft roundly expected to announce its own new console soon, this holiday season is shaping up to be a blockbuster one for gaming fans.
