Download: Checkra1n 0.12.0 iOS 14.2 Jailbreak Update Released

You can now download Checkra1n 0.12.0 beta iOS 14.2 jailbreak update for your iPhone and iPad devices. Here are the details.

The world of jailbreaking is enjoying something of a purple patch right now thanks to the Checkra1n jailbreak. And that particular jailbreak has just been updated to not only include official support for iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, but some new devices as well.

Those devices are the ones that are running an Apple A10 or A10X CPU, so long as they are running iOS 14 or newer. This includes the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

New features for this latest release include:

  • Official support for iOS 14.1 and 14.2
  • Official support for A10/A10X devices on iOS 14.x
  • Limited support for A11 devices on iOS 14.x (Options > Skip A11 BPR check)
  • A “Quick Mode” option that makes the GUI/TUI run on a timer and require no button clicks

There are, of course, also a ton of new bug fixes that have gone into this update. That being said, there are still some known issues that you might want to keep in mind if you’re jailbreaking.

A selection of those includes:

  • On Apple A10 devices running iOS 14, boot may sometimes hang in pongoOS. In that case, reboot the device and retry.
  • Jailbreaking tvOS using the GUI might not work in some cases. As a workaround, you can use the CLI.
  • NVRAM is not unlocked on iOS 14.2
  • A7 devices are currently known to not work with the Linux version

You can download the latest Checra1n release for macOS and Linux now. Windows support hasn’t been added yet but we’re told that it’s in the works.
