Chimera 1.0.5 iOS 12 Jailbreak Update Released With Camera And Mail App Bug Fixes

The team behind the Chimera jailbreak has taken the jailbreak utility to version 1.0.5 and introduced a number of important user-facing fixes. Announced via Twitter, the Chimera 1.0.5 update is available with immediate effect for devices running iOS 12 through 12.1.2.

As is generally the case in today’s modern world, the update was initially announced via Twitter through the main Electra Team Twitter account.

The team announced that version 1.0.5 of Chimera includes an important fix for a bug which has manifested itself in the native Mail app on jailbroken devices. It also includes an “attempt” at fixing a camera bug which has thus far only manifested itself in devices with an internal A12 processor.

The latest update also updates the delivered version of Sileo to 1.0.6 and offers all of the benefits which come attached with that version of the package manager.

This isn’t a particularly groundbreaking release exposing new functionality or dramatic improvements but it does improve the overall stability of the platform for everyone, and especially for those individuals who have actually been experiencing the bugs which are now fixed with the release of version 1.0.5. It’s also a version which is recommended for everyone as it is the latest and therefore the most stable Chimera release.

If you are already jailbroken and are perfectly happy with your experience, then there is no need to re-jailbreak with this version. However, it probably is prudent to get this latest version installed in case you need to reboot or restart your device in the future. If you are jailbroken and are facing stability problems or have faced any of the bugs mentioned, then, of course, go ahead and grab this latest version and put it to good use right away. It won’t come with Cydia but stability is paramount.

If you are wanting to grab the latest version of Chimera, then you can do so right from the Chimera.sh website and get up and running with the latest and greatest right away. You may yearn for Cydia but keep in mind the hard work that is gone into this jailbreak to allow you to be liberated on iOS through iOS 12.1.2.
