Checkra1n 0.12.3 Beta Update Includes iOS 14.5 Support, M1 Mac Compatibility, And More

You can now download the updated checkra1n 0.12.3 beta and it includes some important new features and bug fixes – not least support for the newly-released iOS 14.5.

The new update, available for download now for both Linux and macOS, is a free update and includes plenty to take note of.

From the checkra1n release notes, new features include:

  • Support for iOS 14.5
  • Preliminary support for M1 Macs – read the announcement
  • New –force-revert command line option to force rootFS reverting without access to the loader app
  • The included binpack has been updated and thinned

While the arrival of support for iOS 14.5 is undoubtedly the big news here, there are still some important bug fixes that have been included in this release. Especially if you’re someone who has suffered from these particular issues in the past.

  • Fixes an issue that caused the loader app to crash on tvOS 12
  • Fixes checkra1n crashing on macOS if using a recent MobileDevice framework
  • Fixes an issue that could cause the “terminal UI” to crash on Linux
  • Fixes an issue where the “terminal UI” could leave the terminal in an unusable state on exit

You can download this new update direct from the checkra1n website right now. We’d suggest ensuring you’re running this release or newer whenever you jailbreak from here on out. For a step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak your iOS 14.5 device with the latest checkra1n release, head over here.
