HTC Windows Mobile 7 Handsets to Launch in Q2 2010?

M Asad·December 20, 2009
The HTC roadmap that was leaked some time back revealed that HTC is set to release three Windows Mobile based handsets in the first half of 2010, the HTC Photon, HTC Trophy and HTC Tera. None of these mentioned devices can be graded as high end devices. The roadmap, thus brought somewhat disappointment to HTC fans.

Taimur Asad·December 10, 2009
Some units of HTC HD2 were shipped with camera problem in which a pink hue spot was noticed in the center of all the snaps taken from the 5 megapixel autofocus camera on board HTC HD2. HTC first confirmed it as an hardware issue but then later they found out that it was infact a software issue, rather than a hardware one. And now HTC has rolled out a software update which fixes this problem on all the defected handsets.

Video Review Of Samsung Omnia II on Verizon Wireless

M Asad·December 2, 2009
Last month, we saw the launch of large variety of GSM-based Windows phones like HTC HD2, running Windows Mobile 6.5. However, we didn't see many Windows phones coming in for CDMA users on carriers like Verizon as some of the Android phones like Motorola Droid. And now after much delay, CDMA version of Samsung Omnia II has finally landed today on Verizon Wireless. The Omnia II has a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display which has now pretty much become a standard for Samsung's high-end smartphones.

Windows Mobile OEMs like HTC, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have already been shipping their newer handsets with skinned version of the original stylus-friendly keyboard for finger friendly navigation. Taimur Asad·November 25, 2009
A camera defect was earlier reported by the early adopters of HTC HD2 in which a pink hue spot was noticed in the centre of all the pictures taken from the 5 MP autofocus camera on HTC HD2. HTC earlier had confirmed it as a hardware issue and asked the effected owners to contact their reseller to exchange the defected handset with a new one. The pinkish hue spot in question can be seen clearly in the screenshot attached below.

Enable Multi-touch in All Apps on HTC HD2

M Asad·November 18, 2009
In the pre-release test Roms of Windows Mobile 6.5 for HTC HD2, pinch-to-zoom functionality was available across all apps by which one could finger pinch any application on the screen and it would zoom in. In the final release, however, this useful feature was confined to only a few selective apps on the device that had small elements on screen. Thanks to this tiny application called Zooomer for the HTC HD2, we can now enable pinch-to-zoom multi-touch capability in any program on this Windows Phone. All apps may not really be able to take all the advantage from it but atleast it gives us the choice to select the apps in which we need this functionality.
