Call Of Duty: Ghosts Bags $1 Billion Through Retail Channels In First 24-Hours Of Availability

Paul Morris·November 6, 2013
In the 24-hours following the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts the title has managed to bring in more than $1 billion in revenue through retail sales channels, breaking the record set by Grand Theft Auto 5 for reaching that same number in 3 days. The game’s publisher, Activision, has lifted the lid on first day sales figures in a publicly released press statement and announced that the whopping income has been accumulated through worldwide sales of the title into retail stores.

Ben Reid·November 4, 2013
We're now at the eve of what will more than likely be the second-biggest gaming release of this calendar year, and with Call of Duty: Ghosts almost at retail, Activision has released a live-action trailer featuring the lovely Megan Fox. The clip, which runs for almost two minutes, is entitled "Epic Night Out," and you can check it out right after the break!

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Will Run At 1080p On PS4, 720p On Xbox One

Ben Reid·October 31, 2013
The release of GTA V has proved that despite the small matter of the next-gen console battle upcoming, there's still life in both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 yet. Sales of the current generation machines may have spiked slightly in light of Rockstar's record-breaking title, but with little under a month to go before we see the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 hit the retail market, it's high time we focused our attentions on these two major releases. Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has just delivered some stonking news for Call of Duty fans by noting that Ghosts, the latest addition to the popular franchise, will run natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4, and will be upscaled from 720p to full HD on Xbox One.

PS4 DualShock 4 Controller Will Work With Both Windows PCs And Macs [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·October 26, 2013
The imminent arrival of Sony's PlayStation 4 and all associated accessories is already reason enough to be excited as we head into the vastly important holiday shopping season. Getting our hands on and experiencing the PS4 - as well as Microsoft's Xbox One we might add - will be one of the highlights of the year as far as anticipated technology goes, but it's always great to find out that the hardware is capable of a little more than we first thought. In the case of Sony and the PlayStation 4 it seems that the accompanying DualShock 4 controller is actually compatible with a range of other platforms.

PS4 Priced At $1,850 In Brazil, More Expensive Than Xbox One By Huge Margin

Aatif·October 19, 2013
The PlayStation 4 is a coveted console, we get it - it is the top of the line gaming hardware from Sony at the moment, after all - but paying $1,850 for it? It's just absurd, don't you think? I mean, who'd dish out that much dough for just a gaming console? Well, unfortunately for the gaming enthusiasts living in Brazil, this is what they have to come up with if they want to get their hands on the latest gaming gear from Sony Entertainment, where the PS4 will retail for a whopping R$ 3,999, according to the Brazil PlayStation Blog.

Official PS4 App For iOS And Android Will Let You Use Your Phone As A Game Controller

Ben Reid·September 21, 2013
Not so long ago, gaming on a console was a pretty clear cut affair consisting of the machine itself, a controller or two, and a television. But in the modern day, it's as much about the motion sensors and companion apps as it is about your standard gaming experience, and with both Sony and Microsoft dishing out plenty of exciting peripherals and accessories to supplement their respective next-gen consoles, the former has just revealed its official PlayStation 4 app for both iOS and Android.

Xbox One Will Support Eight Controllers Simultaneously, PlayStation 4 Only Four

Ben Reid·September 5, 2013
Although the Xbox One has been revealed and, more recently, finally been given a release date, we're still learning new and exciting things about Microsoft's console every day. The official Microsoft support channels on the various social networks have been inundated with questions from eager gaming fans, and, slowly but surely, the Redmond company is getting around to divulging some of this important information. In the latest, it looks as though the Xbox One will be able to connect up to eight controllers at any one time, meaning those looking to enjoy extended family / friend multiplayer match-ups probably won't need to keep rotating. By the same token, the PlayStation 4 will only support a maximum of four, but given the limited support for more than four competitors, as well as the practical issues, this shouldn't be a deal-breaker.

PlayStation 4 Supports Voice Recognition Through PlayStation Camera, Confirms Sony

Ben Reid·September 3, 2013
Voice recognition tech has been around for a number of years, but only did it really make its mark on the digital industry back in 2011, when Apple dropped Siri for the iPhone 4S. Since then, it has become a mainstay, and Sony has just confirmed that its upcoming PlayStation 4 console will indeed feature voice recognition.

PlayStation 4 Bundle With Killzone: Shadow Fall And PS Camera Leaked Ahead Of Release

Ben Reid·August 30, 2013
With what's shaping up to be an interesting slog for the next-gen console crown, both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 continue to grapple for those column inches as consumers make up their minds about which one to choose. After a spate of reports pertaining Microsoft's next big thing, a leak of the PS4's Killzone: Shadow Fall bundle has emerged. Now, we've seen a Killzone bundle already, but this one, which features the new Killzone as well as a PlayStation Camera, briefly appeared on the French Amazon site.

Rockstar Games Releases More GTA 5 Screenshots As Launch Looms Near

Ben Reid·August 24, 2013
Rockstar Games has been steadfast in its releasing of screenshots and teaser trailers for its upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5, and with just a couple of weeks left until the eagerly awaited retail date, the developer-publisher has come through with another bundle of snaps demonstrating some of the sumptuous scenery. Rockstar has already familiarized us with virtually every facet of the game including the characters, missions, weapons, vehicles, and even the GTA 5 online gameplay trailer, but these screenshots simply focus on the two main aspects of every GTA title: Crime and Leisure.
