There's little doubt that, in its current state, multitasking in iOS is very limited in terms of functionality. In fact, it's about as one-dimensional a feature as any within the entire operating system, and with iOS 7 now well and truly on the horizon, it is something concept makers have really focused their attentions on in recent weeks. Ran Avni is yet another designer with fresh ideas of how iOS multitasking should play out in the future, delivering a rather intriguing concept which sees windows for different apps form a card-like UI.
If you are a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch user who loves nothing more than customizing and changing the aesthetics of iOS, then it could definitely be worth checking out the Athena package that has recently landed on the BigBoss repository. Many jailbreak fans regularly download and install full system themes that are then activated through WinterBoard to take care of their artistic pleasures, but Athena could be a great little alternative for those who just want some added eye candy on the app icons.
While it's true that not everyone is an iTunes fan, many will concede that iTunes 11’s MiniPlayer feature is actually rather nifty. TinyUmbrella has been updated to support iOS 6.1.4 for iPhone 5. TinyUmbrella is a popular tool in the jailbreak community which is widely used to save SHSH blobs and APTickets for iOS firmwares Apple is still signing. Every now and then a new app or tweak comes along that can genuinely be thought of as a game changer. Whenever Samsung launches or releases a new device, one of its first ports of call is to take a swipe at Apple, and with the Galaxy S4 currently making its way to numerous markets around the world, it should be of little surprise to see the U.S. arm of the Korean company deliver another not-very-devastating blow to its Cupertino rival. This latest ad, entitled 'Grad Pool Party,' sees scores of Galaxy S4 fans nonchalantly showing off some of the device's snazzy features like Air Gestures, and when the iPhone 5 users ask whether they can get in on the act, they are, of course, rebuffed. Check out the video after the break, you really don’t want to miss this!
There's no getting away from the fact that mobile devices like the iPhone and iPod touch are all about convenience and being able to do what we want to do with our connected lives. Whether it be accessing Facebook on the move, downloading the latest music track from a favorite artist or reading what's going on in the world from a cherished news app; the power of mobile is in plain view. It's for that exact reason why iOS device owners love to jailbreak their devices, and it doesn't come anymore convenient that the new LockscreenToggles tweak when it comes to getting almost immediate access to an array of system settings.
College Humor likes to focus much of its comedy on the world of tech, and a rather entertaining new clip draws comparisons between girlfriends and iPhones. Like the video showing how a typical guy would use Google Glass, it brings modern technology into the crosshairs of common relationship issues, and the video, which is very funny indeed, can be seen after the break!
