iOS 7 may have represented the most significant change to the look and functionality of Apple's mobile OS in its short history, but even though the flatter, brighter interface seems to have gone down well, the luxury of the Evad3rs jailbreak has prompted themes galore. Today, we're going to be looking at a neat little theme called Acies, which, although similar to the stock layout in that it keeps things flat, crisp and minimalistic, tones down the bright colors with a more tranquil, calm, and inviting finish.
We've heard from a number of sources that Apple is planning two larger iPhones for release in 2014 - one with a 4.7-inch display and another packing a decidedly-extensive 5.5-inch panel. But after seeing just how carried away folks got with the so-called iPhone 5 in the run-up to what eventually amounted to the iPhone 4s, it's always good to have some physical evidence - however vague - to corroborate the incessant claims. Shots of a new rear-shell leak, along with an alleged iPhone 6 prototype, have just leaked into the wild, and from the looks of it, the iPhone 6 will carry a similar design language which we’ve seen in the iPad Air.
We’ve seen swathes of great iOS 7 themes pour out from Cydia recently. But while some have dramatically revamped the aesthetic of Apple's mobile OS for the better, others, such as Carla, have proved that sometimes, it's the subtle alterations that can make the greatest overall difference. Thientam Bach, aka Surenix, is actually known for his popular Ayecon theme, which was also recently updated for iOS 7, here he has once again demonstrated his masterful skills in a teaser for his latest theme, ayeris.
There's no denying that thanks to the likes of Instagram, people taking pictures of themselves and posting them onto social networks is in vogue. If you've been looking for an efficient way to take self-shots on your device without having to go through the rigmarole of finding your camera app and switching the lends to front-facing, then a new tweak called, but of course, Selfie, will help you achieve this.
The iPhone 6 has been a hot topic of discussion during the opening stages of this year, and from what we've heard so far, the Cupertino company could be planning to release two versions of the upcoming handset. We're expecting one model of around 4.7 inches, and another, similarly-equipped handset of around 5.5 inches, and both will, according to reports, look very much identical. Now, it has emerged that Apple may be opting for a "bezel-free" display, which would not only look great, but maximize display real-estate without adding too much by way of bulk.
The Google Admin app, which offers easy management of Google Apps domains in one place, has been available on Android for over nine months, with no real sign of a version for iOS. Today, however, the search giant has come through with the corresponding edition for iPhone, iPad and touch users, packing most of the same features right off the bat. Details, as well as the direct download link for the app, can be found after the break.
iTunes Radio, which has hitherto been a U.S.-only affair, has just launched Down Under, the first of several key areas to be introduced to the streaming service during the opening months of this calendar year.
Around this time last year, we featured a jailbreak theme by the name of Carla, which offered some well-designed, beautifully-detailed icons and aesthetics to the iOS 6 experience. Now, the developer has come through with a version for iOS 7, and although bears many remnants of the previous edition, looks even more polished and appealing this time around.
The iOS 7 app switcher is incredibly slick, and after years of insufferable, barely-there, half-baked multitasking, certainly hasn't arrived before its time. As well as being functionally sound, the new app switcher also looks the part, but as with any aspect of iOS, there's always room for improvement where the jailbreak community is concerned. A new, free tweak over at the BigBoss repo enhances the experience by bringing full-screen previews to the app switcher, making full use of your device's display real estate. Check it out after the fold!
The hit game Flappy Bird was abruptly pulled from the App Store and Google Play over the weekend, with the developer behind the popular title seemingly unable to handle the sudden wave of media attention. At this point in time, it looks very much as though the game isn't coming back, and naturally, some have sought to capitalize on this fact. They say you can get just about anything on eBay, and they weren't wrong; selling for a higher-than-usual price, you can pick up an iPhone 5s in Space Gray - with Flappy Bird installed.
