While replying to a tweet, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that an unlock for iPhone 3G/3GS on 05.12.01 baseband will be released once Apple announces the new iPhone along with final GM version of iPhone OS 4. This announcement is expected to be made at WWDC 2010 so it wont be long before we finally get our iPhones unlocked on this baseband.
According to the sources at TechCrunch, the next version of iPhone OS, which is set to release this June will have Bing as its default search engine in Mobile Safari. Microsoft and Apple have reportedly been in talks over a possible search deal since January of this year, but since then there has been no real news on this.
If you thought the next platform wars between Microsoft (Windows Media Center), Google (Google TV) and Apple wont move to TV’s, you’ll be horribly wrong. According to the sources at Engadget, the next iteration of Apple TV will get a much needed complete revamp. It will be a small device (like iPhone), will be powered by a variant of iPhone OS, and best of all, will only cost a 100 bucks ($99 to be exact).
We have already seen leaked images of the white iPhone 4G / HD before, but this time it has appeared on a video which looks like been grinded down a lot by some crappy video editing skills. Although the white iPhone in video looks quite a lot like the one we’ve seen previously leaked but the extreme lighting exposure makes it hard for us to point out any extra detail at all.
According to the latest round of rumors, Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer will make a surprise appearance at WWDC 2010 (7 minutes to be exact from Steve Jobs keynote) to announce Visual Studio 2010 for iPhone, iPad and Mac OS development. John Gruber of Daring Fireball reports the following.
Though the whole leaked iPhone 4G / HD fiasco might’ve spoiled quite a lot of fun for some, but now according to this latest report by DigiTimes, Apple already has a backup design for their new iPhone 4G / HD which looks quite a lot like the current iPhone 3G/3GS design. This backup plan was kept in case if Apple had complications in mass producing the new design which we’ve already seen in the double-leak by Gizmodo and from the folks in Vietnam.
Redsn0w has just been updated to beta 4 to support the latest iPhone OS 4 Beta 4 firmware. iPhone OS 4 Beta 4 was released by Apple last week, which since Beta 2 has closed the jailbreak loophole used by Redsn0w 0.9.5b1 and b2 to jailbreak OS 4. But with this latest version of redsn0w, you should be able to jailbreak iPhone OS 4 again on iPhone 3G.
Yes! Its that time time of the year again! Apple is now offering an exciting “Back to School” offer for students and faculty. You can now buy a new Mac for your college or school and you’ll get an 8GB iPod touch worth US $199 for free.
We have been seeing that every time a new iPhone is released, the price tag of the previous-gen model drops down drastically. When iPhone 3GS came out, 3G price was dropped to $99. And now according to fresh reports Walmart as of today has officially dropped iPhone 3GS price down to just US $97 on two years contract. Apple has also stopped shipping the iPhone 3G 8GB units to AT&T stores and further orders are not being taken anymore. This, if anything, are clear signs of the arrival of new iPhone, the iPhone 4G / HD.
This is now becoming a norm isn't it? Some new pictures of the next iPhone are now floating around the web sphere, showing the metal frame which Apple has used to house the main interior components of this high profile gadget. This is basically that middle unibody piece which will have glass (or plastic) top on each side.
