The unofficial WikiLeaks app for iPhone and iPad which was only released last week has been removed by Apple from the iTunes App Store.
The much awaited game, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline by Gameloft has finally landed on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Asphalt 6 features 42 licensed cars, 12 tracks and a career mode to keep you busy for hours. But will this be enough to knockout Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and the recently released Real Racing 2 gaming titles?
After releasing a jailbreak app which enables AirPlay functionality via third-party apps, and then AirPlayer which allows you to AirPlay videos on your Mac from your iPhone as if it was an Apple TV, Erica Sadun has now released AirFlick which basically allows you to stream just about anything on the Apple TV from your computer running Mac OS X.
Some good news for iPhone 4 users who are waiting for an unlock on iOS 4.2.1, baseband 3.10.01 and 2.10.04. The Egyptian based and Neurosurgeon & iPhone Baseband hacker Sherif Hashim has replied to a user on Twitter, confirming of sorts that the unlock for iPhone 4 on the latest firmware and baseband isn't too far off from release.
There is now a new app available on the App Store which gives you full access to WikiLeaks’ old and new archives. Dubbed as WikiLeaks App, it delivers recent and old updates along with tweets, all presented in a nice and clean interface. The app allows you to check on the latest WikiLeaks updates from Twitter or the organization’s website. The tweets and the website are formatted for both iPhone and iPad.
Earlier this month, Comex of Spirit and JailbreakMe fame confirmed that a more efficient userland-based untethered jailbreak method for iOS 4.2.1 will be released before Christmas 2010.
Word Lens is a new augmented reality app for iOS devices that instantly translates printed words from one language to another in real time using the camera on your iPhone. You can point your camera lens at a sign that's written in Spanish and it will immediately provide an English translation. Word Lens uses text recognition technology to work out what the word or phrase is, then translates it into the new language using automatic translation software and at blistering speed. The translation is even pasted over the original location making it even more impressive.
Raskin Software today has announced an update to its zoom-able Finder alternative for the Mac OS X. Raskin for Mac OS X utilizes an iOS-style visual interface to represent all your files and images on a single page without the need to open the native Finder on the machine. This saves a considerable amount of time and more importantly can be more than handy for non-Mac users or those who have just migrated to OS X.
The iPhone 5 is yet to be seen, demoed or even announced by Apple, but this hasn't stopped a Chinese manufacturer from demoing an iPhone 5 ‘clone’. It’s very likely that the clone is not running iOS and is more likely running Android with a custom iPhone skin on it. As you can see from the picture below there has not been much imagination used, as it looks more like a thinner version of the 3GS than anything else.
So you thought iPad 2 was the only real deal for the first half of 2011? Think again as new rumors are just in for more Apple devices getting a revision next year.
