Facebook is no stranger to controversy, but it usually find itself in hot water thanks to its less than clear privacy policies. In fact, even when their policies are clear people are usually pretty unhappy about what they are being told. Rightly or wrongly, Facebook has something of a reputation for being less than transparent.

The iPhone 4S is selling like hotcakes worldwide, and new iPhone owners are picking up their first entry into the iOS ecosystem all the time. We get plenty of requests for app recommendations here at Redmond Pie, and with Christmas around the corner I thought I would put together a short list showcasing my favorite, or must-have apps for the iPhone.
When Google first took the wraps off its Honeycomb release of Android at CES in January, the world sat up and took notice - was Google going to finally do to the world of tablets and the iPad what it did to the smartphone market? Would Honeycomb kick start the Android tablet space and create some competition for the runaway success Apple was enjoying with the iPad?

We're coming up to the end of 2011, and everyone is writing their 'top apps of the year' lists, and Apple is no different. Under the heading of 'App Store Rewind 2011' Apple has listed the apps it thinks have caused a stir during 2011, with both apps and games getting shown off. As well as announcing the company's favorite apps, Apple has also released new charts showing which apps were downloaded the most through 2011, as well as which grossed the most money. Interesting reading, if you like that sort of thing.

Android-packing Facebook fans rejoice - you're now able to download the newly updated Facebook app for your smartphone, and it brings with it a whole new user interface and design. If you've played with the iPhone or iPad version of Facebook's mobile app, then you're probably already pretty familiar with the changes that the social network just pushed out to Android owners, but here's the general rundown anyway.
It's been a big few days in the world of Microsoft's Xbox 360. There was the whole Xbox Dashboard update palava, where the update was scheduled to go live and then was delayed for less than a day and now there is a whole new iOS app in Apple's App Store which is Microsoft's first Xbox related app to be released for the iOS devices.
Despite rumors suggesting that Microsoft would release a beta version of Windows 8 at CES in January, the company has now laid those claims to rest by announcing that it will give people a chance to test the software out in February.
We all know that Apple has struggled with knock-off devices for a long, long time. Fake iPods first began appearing in China long before the iPhone and iPad were announced, or even thought of. Now though, even the touch-screen loveliness of Apple's flagship products find themselves being copied and sold on the black market.
