The Apple Watch try-on sessions will commence from this Friday, with the retail date arriving on April 24th, in just over two weeks' time, and although it's rather early to be casting aspersions, many are suggesting that this product could reach iPhone levels of popularity. Naturally, one might expect queues to form outside Apple Retail Stores in the days and hours leading up to the official launch later this month, but as per a new memo sent out by Apple SVP Angela Ahrendts, those days are long gone.

Apple made a series of announcements at its Spring Forward media event on April 9th, and aside from Apple Watch and the all-new MacBook, the company also announced a deal to bring HBO to its range of products. HBO NOW, as it is known, has taken a month to finally hit the scene, but if you're rocking an Apple TV, iPhone or iPad, you can give it a whirl thanks to the 30-day free trial that is being offered.
The Apple Watch is scheduled to go for pre-order later this week, with release slated a fortnight later on April 24th. The way Apple has gone about advertising and preparing for the device's roll out - with a two-week try-on period running at retail stores throughout the pre-order phase - it's clear that the company believes this product could be as big if not bigger than the iPhone was in 2007, and while some commentators have echoed these sentiments, there's plenty of contrasting skepticism. An interesting archive takes us back to the period of the iPhone's launch, and throws up some intriguing, oft hilarious initial reaction to the smartphone that changed everything.

Google's Chromecast burst onto the scene back in 2013, and with an incredibly cheap price tag and simple functionality, has offered many standard television sets a degree of smart TV functionality. Today, another compact, HDMI-based product has been announced by the Big G, and this one will turn your TV into an all-singing Chrome PC for under a hundred bucks.
Ah, the iPad Pro. It's an enigma that has continued to elude us for many a year, and like Apple's supposed connected TV effort, has yet to materialize. When something is rumored ad infinitum but is scarcely leaked, as is the case with the higher-end iPad Pro, it does draw a fair bit of skepticism, but with the likes of Microsoft and Samsung having come through large-screened slates dripping with power, it seems reasonable that Apple will follow suit at some stage. Here, another dummy leak throws up the rather interesting theory that the device could include a secondary Lighting / USB-C port on the side of the body, which would, ironically, exceed the solitary connection point of the new 12-inch Retina MacBook.
