Flying on Emirates Airlines, compared with most other aviation companies, is a pretty expensive gig, to say the least. Indeed, if you fancy flying on an Emirates A380, you could be looking at a ticket price of for up to $20,000 for First Class, and naturally, not everybody has that kind of cash just to throw around. Still, if you've wondered what it's like to mosey on through one of these monstrous planes, Google Street View has you covered, for now you can get up close and personal with the 610,000 lb beast and take a tour of the entire plane, including First, Business and Economy Class, as if it were a long luxurious road.
Despite having improved dramatically in terms of overall usability during the course of the last year thanks to that Project Butter update with Jelly Bean 4.1, Android's malware situation remains very much its achilles heel. It seems that scarcely a week goes by without some kind of outbreak or discovery by a security firm, and today, a worrying security hole has been discovered.
Nokia may still be struggling to sell its Lumia branded devices when compared with the huge numbers of iPhones Apple manages to shift, but that hasn't stopped the Finnish company from having a pop at its Cupertino rival in an advert for its newly-released Lumia 925. The ad focuses on, as you'd imagine, the Lumia's superiority in the camera department, and while the iPhone 5's snapper holds its own against most of the smartphone arena's most popular handsets, the Lumia 925 was always going to win this one.
Late last week, it emerged that the Galaxy Note 3, along with - possibly - a Samsung-made smart watch, named Galaxy Gear, could finally be shown off to the world at a special event to be held on September 4th. Given that the date has changed frequently over the past couple of months, we were slightly apprehensive in counting our chickens, but the South Korean outfit has just handed out invitations to another Unpacked event on that very date. The company will also be holding another event the following day that will see some other product launches, and although a smart watch would perhaps be a long shot, the press is sure to speculate from here on out.
The latest Google Play Store app APK 4.2.9 is now available for download. This version of Play Store is extracted directly from Android 4.3 ROMs.
There are many advantages to owning a smartphone running stock Android, one of which is that, when a new version of Google's software arrives, you don't have to wait forever for the OTA to hit your device. Such is the case with the Google Play Edition Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, which will both begin to see the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update as of today.
There are very few things more annoying about using a smartphone than being right in the middle of a task - and somebody calls. The fact that they've called isn't perhaps the most irritating thing, but because your entire display is interrupted by the call, you're basically obligated to stop what you were doing and answer. If you're looking for a more subtle, unobtrusive notification of an incoming call, a new app by the name of CallHeads may well have you covered.
Well that didn't take very long, did it? Following on from the launch of the Google-Motorola Moto X smartphone, the deliciously vibrant stock wallpapers from the new device have already been plucked away, packaged up, and are now ready for distribution. There are 16 wallpapers in all, and you can check the preview - as well as that all-important download link - after the leap.
This fall, we're expecting to see many new and exciting products out of Cupertino. As well as the possibility of Intel's Haswell processor hitting the MacBook Pro and iMac, we're also likely to see a next-gen iPhone, perhaps a cheaper iPhone, and according to a recent WSJ article, a Retina iPad mini. Of the main releases, that only leaves the fifth-gen iPad, and a leaked video that has just hit the Web allegedly offers an idea as to what the forthcoming Apple tablet will look like when it hits the stores.
