Apple’s Clips App Update Adds Immersive AR Spaces Using iPhone 12 Pro LiDAR Scanner

Apple today announced that it has released a brand new version of Clips that adds support for using the iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro’s LiDAR Scanner to create amazing video effects.

Dubbed AR Spaces, the new feature allows users to take the space that they’re in and then alter it in a way that wouldn’t be possible on other iPhones and iPads. Only the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPad Pro have LiDAR Scanners.

Apple also added that it is beginning to offer monthly content releases that include new filters and stickers.

Clips, Apple’s easy-to-use video creation app for iPhone and iPad, gives users even more fun options to record captivating videos. With all-new AR Spaces powered by LiDAR on iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro models, creators can transform a space by adding immersive visual effects that map to the contours of a room, and can be easily shared with anyone. AR Spaces in the Clips app leverage Apple’s unique combination of hardware and software, offering another inventive way for users to engage with and delight friends and family, or share playful, eye-catching videos on social media. Clips is also expanding creative options with monthly content releases containing new filters, stickers, and more.

Clips is a free app that has been used by many to create some amazing videos that can then be shared anywhere – including social media like TikTok and Instagram.

The update can be downloaded from the App Store now. You’re looking for Clips version 3.1 and it can be downloaded right now for absolutely nothing.
