Apple Unveils Most Popular Apps And Games Of 2023

At the end of every year Apple shares details of the most popular apps and games that have been downloaded from the App Store over the last year and 2023 is no different. The company has now shared details across a whole range of categories including paid, free, and even Apple Arcade games.

With the App Store being the only way for people to install games on iPhones and iPads it’s a good indication of what people are using and playing, and these charts always make for some interesting reading.

In the case of the top paid-for iPad games, Minecraft takes top spot followed by the hugely popular Geometry Dash.

  6. Five Nights at Freddy’s

In terms of free iPad games, it should come as no surprise that Roblox was the most popular game, followed by Magic Tiles 3.

The iPhone charts were very similar, as you’d expect, although not identical. The most popular paid iPhone game was again Minecraft, with Roblox beat out of the top spot in the free chart by Monopoly Go!

Across Apple Arcade, NBA 2K23 Arcade Edition took the number one spot from Cooking Mama: Cuisine in second.

Over in the world of apps, Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire was the most popular free iPhone app while Shadowrocket took the top spot in terms of paid iPhone apps. The iPad saw Max, a video streaming service, become the most popular freebie while Procreate, an artistic app, took the top spot for those that are paid for.
