Apple Now Lets You Merge Purchases From Two Accounts, Here’s How

If you have two Apple accounts with different purchases, Apple now lets you merge them. This means you can move apps, music, books, TV shows, and movies from one account to another.

As spotted by Stephen Hackett from 512 Pixels, Apple has shared a guide on how to do this. The idea is to combine accounts, especially if you have one for iCloud and another for media purchases.

To make the switch, you’ll need access to both accounts (email, phone number, and password), two-factor authentication turned on, and neither account should be shared. The main iCloud account will stay primary, while the media purchase account will be the secondary one.

The process requires signing into two accounts on your iPhone or iPad—one for iCloud and one for purchases. Make sure both are set to the same country and that the secondary account has no remaining balance.

Apple provides a checklist to follow before starting. You can begin by going to Settings > Media & Purchases > View Account and selecting Migrate Purchases. Once done, the secondary account can’t be used for purchases anymore. You’ll need to log in with the primary account on all devices.

Your payment methods, subscriptions, and even Apple TV’s Up Next list will move over. However, this feature isn’t available in the EU, UK, or India yet.
