Apple In Talks With Hotels To Support iOS 17 AirPlay In Rooms

Apple will unveil iOS 17 at WWDC 2023 this year on June 5. Ahead of the unveil, rumors and reports are floating around on what new features will iOS 17 bring to iPhone and iPad users.

One such report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg details Apple working on upgrading SharePlay and AirPlay features as part of iOS 17 update.

While it’s not clear what changes will Apple bring to SharePlay, as far as AirPlay is concerned, Apple is reportedly in talks with various different hotels to bring AirPlay feature to TVs and speakers in hotel rooms.

This will allow users to easily beam video and audio to TVs and speakers in the room without having to use any third-party device.

Apple held discussions with hotels and other places that offer TVs and speakers, aiming to make it easier for users to beam video and audio to devices they don’t own.

Some hotels have already integrated similar casting technologies from Google and others for TVs and speakers. Apple is probably looking to bring same functionality for its iPhone and iPad users.

As mentioned earlier, Apple is set to unveil iOS 17 to the world for the first time at WWDC on June 5. We will be there reporting live from the event to bring you all the updates from WWDC stage. Stay tuned for more on this space.
