Apple Hints At Big iOS 18 AI Upgrades With Cryptic Social Post

Apple has today announced the date for WWDC 2024 with the festivities kicking off on June 10 this time around.

The event will be held online with an in-person component on the first date, and there are already big expectations. And that was even before Apple’s Greg Joswiak shared a post to the X social network that hints at some big AI features being on the horizon.

Apple has long been rumored to be readying new AI features for the iOS 18 and macOS 15 software updates that will likely be announced during the WWDC 2024 event, and now Jozwiak has given us a strong indication that is indeed the case.

In a post on the X social network, Joswiak said that the event is “going to be Absolutely Incredible!” That capitalization of the A and I has led some people to believe the post was a nod to recent rumors.

Apple is reportedly in talks with Google and OpenAI about using their generative AI technology to power its new software updates with some expecting that Siri will receive some much-needed improvements as part of this initiative.

Apple is expected to announce the new software at WWDC which kicks off on June 10, but we will have to wait before we can take the new software for a spin ourselves. While an initial beta will be made available to developers on June 10, the software won’t be released to the public until this fall, likely in September alongside the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro devices.
