Apple CEO Tim Cook To Meet President Trump At The Oval Office Today

Coming a day after Tim Cook put in an appearance at the France state dinner alongside President Trump and French President Macron, the Apple CEO will have a private meeting with America’s premier at the White House, according to Trump’s publicly available schedule.

There are no details as to what that meeting will entail, although we do know that it will take place in the Oval Office and will not be available to the press.

The meeting was first spotted by Jon Passantino of BuzzFeed and although we do not know what the meeting is about and no press will be present, it’s likely we will at least learn a little about the meeting’s content following the event although as always, there will be plenty held back during that explanation.

Cook and Trump have of course met previously, with the Apple chief having bene part of a number of executives who attended a panel aimed at modernizing the United States government last year. Cook also attended the French state dinner and was sat at the head table, just as he did when attending a similar dinner with President Obama back in 2015.

According to Passantino:

Tim Cook sat at the state dinner table tonight with Trump and Macron. And now this on the president’s schedule tomorrow:

1:45PM THE PRESIDENT meets with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, Inc.
Oval Office
Closed Press

With Tim Cook having previously called the President out on a number of important topics including environmental policy and immigration, some may wonder why he continues to mingle with a man who he clearly does not see eye-to-eye with.

Cook cleared this up himself when saying that there is no benefit to be had from being on the outside looking in, with his belief being that you can only affect change from the inside. It’s hard to argue with that, and now we can only wonder what the pair will be talking about during that behind-closed-doors meeting.
