Apple Black Friday 2016 Deals Teaser Page Is Live

Apple fans rejoice! The Mac-maker will be offering Black Friday 2016 deals for a day come November 25th after a break from the event in the year 2015.

Apple has published a new webpage to tell the world about this and is aimed at those price savvy individuals looking to grab a bargain or two this coming Black Friday. Published with the tagline “Friday can’t come soon enough”, the dedicated webpage promises a “one-day shopping event” that will allow us all to pick up a gift for ourselves, a family member, or friend.

Similar to other retailers around this time of year, the Apple event will be held for a single 24-hour period, meaning that when it’s over, it’s over.

It’s actually extremely interesting and exciting to see Apple publish a shopping page of this nature. When this time of year comes along, the world’s richest company generally prefers to pass the burden of responsibility across to official resellers of Apple’s products in order to offer the relevant discounts to consumers.

This is part of an internal policy to never knowingly offer heavy discounts on products through fear of cheapening the experience or giving the impression that they are heavily overpriced in the first instance. But could this one-day even be the start of a shift in focus? The webpage reads:

Friday can’t come soon enough. Our one-day shopping event will be here before you know it. Come back this Friday to check everyone off your list.

The one notable thing about the new webpage is that it doesn’t actually go into any additional details on what the company will be offering when this one-day event comes along. Apple has historically chosen to stay away from the madness of Black Friday deals over the last few years, choosing instead in 2014 to offer Apple Gift Cards of varying value with purchases of compatible hardware. As an example, during the last event, anyone purchasing an iPod touch, nano, or Apple TV was given a $25 Apple Gift Card to spend as they see fit. That amount was increased to $50 for iPad purchases, and a whopping $100 for those buying a Mac.

The webpage as it currently stands offers quick routes to Apple gifts, music gifts, photography gifts, and games & toys; all part of Apple’s 2016 Holiday Gift Guide. It’ll be interesting to see this coming Friday if Tim Cook’s company looks to offer physical discounts from any of the listed products, whether it opts to once again offer Gift Cards with purchases, or perhaps proceed with a different shopping model altogether.
