The New iPhone Duo Doesn’t Have An Action Button

Apple announced the new iPhone Duo during its September 9 special event, and while it was given plenty of screen time during the streamed unveiling, we’re still learning new bits about what it has to offer.

We’re also learning what’s missing, too, like the Action Button.

We already knew that the iPhone Duo has an Action Button for controlling the built-in cameras, but it’s now been confirmed that it won’t be joined by an Action Button when the new iPhone goes on sale.

As noted by MacRumors, the iPhone Duo’s technical specification webpage includes a diagram of the device, including its top-mounted volume buttons and the Camera Control and power button on the right. We also know that the USB-C port is on the bottom and that microphones and speakers can be found on both the top and bottom edges.

But there’s no sign of the Action Button, a feature that debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro and has been present on all iPhones that have been released since.

The Action Button allows iPhone owners to quickly access a specific feature by pressing that button, whether that’s a system-level feature like the flashlight or something more advanced, like a shortcut.

This move also means that there is no physical way to mute the iPhone Duo, a first for Apple’s iPhone lineup.
