When Apple announced the iOS 27 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 8, the company immediately released the first developer beta.

We’ve seen multiple beta versions arrive since then, including the beta 4 update that was released on July 20. Apple has also settled into a pattern that sees each new beta arrive around two weeks after the last.

With that in mind, we expect Apple to release iOS 27 beta 5 to developers on or around Monday, August 3. We also then expect the next public beta release to arrive around the same time, too, or maybe a day or two after developer beta 5 at max.

We don’t know for sure how many more betas there will be before iOS 27 is ready for public release, but there are likely to be quite a few. Apple has plenty of time before it needs to make the update available to the world.

Apple has confirmed that it will release the final iOS 27 update to the public this fall. We expect that to be around the first two weeks of September, based on previous years, just before the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max go on sale.
