Vine For Android Is Finally Here – Download Now!

Vine, Twitter’s video-sharing app only hitherto available on iOS, has finally made its way to the Google Play Store, so if you’re an Android user and have been waiting patiently for Vine to manifest itself, you can now go ahead and download it. We have all of the details, as well as that all-important download link, coming right up after the break.

Photo sharing on mobile devices has been incredibly successful, with the now Facebook-owned Instagram boasting tens of millions of active users. YouTube is certainly the go-to service when it comes to viral video, but like what Burbn did with Instagram, Vine has sought to make the process of shooting and uploading one of relative ease.

Having been around for quite a while on iOS, the Android Vine app has just made an appearance over at Google’s Play Store. Having given it a little try out, it does seem to run rather smoothly, although some users have reported bugs and errors so proceed with caution and be prepared for some potential teething issues with version 1.0.0.

Having used the iOS version for a while, it’s clear that Twitter has taken plenty of cues from Instagram in designing this app. From interface and navigation to adding tags and making comments, it’s a pretty standard fare, so if you’ve become accustomed to Instagram, you’ll have no trouble transferring those skills over to Vine.

All you need to do is record a short clip, and let the app do the rest. It’s a pleasant, fledgling social network, and although we’re perhaps already spoilt for choice in this particular category, Vine has proved that there is still room for more.

As I say, a lot of the early comments over at the Play Store suggest Vine for Android is not quite there yet, so don’t go in expecting a completely smooth, flawless experience.

Download Vine right now via the link provided, and be sure to let us know of your thoughts by dropping a comment via the usual mediums. If you’re on iOS, be sure to give Vine for iPhone a shot as well.
