2025 MacBook Air Gets M4 Chip, Better Camera, And A Fresh New Color

Apple just upgraded the MacBook Air with faster performance, a better camera, and a sleek new color option.

The 13-inch and 15-inch models now run on the M4 chip, making them twice as fast as the older M1 versions. If you use AI-powered apps, you’ll notice an even bigger boost—Apple says Neural Engine tasks are up to three times faster.

One of the standout features? Sky Blue. This fresh, metallic light blue finish shifts shades depending on how light hits it. It joins Midnight, Starlight, and Silver, but Space Gray is gone. Apple is also including a color-matched MagSafe cable with every model.

For video calls, Apple has upgraded the MacBook Air’s camera to 12MP with Center Stage, which keeps you in frame even if you move around. It also supports Desk View, so you can share a top-down look at your workspace while on a call.

Another big upgrade? Dual external display support. You can now connect two 6K monitors while the laptop’s lid is closed, something previous MacBook Air models couldn’t do.

Pricing is a little sweeter this time. The base model starts at $999, and students can get it for $899. Pre-orders are open now, and the new MacBook Air officially launches on March 12.
