2024 iPad Pro Could Feature A Matte Display Like The Studio Display

If you’re planning on picking up one of Apple’s new OLED iPad Pros, you might have to consider more than which display size you want and how much storage you need.

According to one leaker, there could be a new matte display option to ponder as well.

That’s according to the Weibo leaker Instant Digital who claims that Apple is offering a new matte display option that will be made available alongside the standard glossy option that people are more familiar with. MacRumors, which first picked up the post, notes that there could also be some kind of blue-light-blocking technology involved as well.

It apparently features -4° to +29° of haze and may tout some kind of blue-light blocking technology to help protect the eyes. Matte screen protectors for the iPad have become popular, so it is possible that Apple is trying to offer such an option at the point of purchase for those who want it.

It isn’t yet clear whether the matte option will be similar to the Studio Display’s nano-texture glass, but if that’s the case it could be an expensive addition for those who want it. It’s also been suggested that the same matte option may come to the upcoming iPad Air models as well, although that seems unlikely given the difference in price point compared to the iPad Pro.

Rumors have so far suggested that Apple could announce the new iPad Pro and iPad Air models within the next few weeks, with sales likely beginning in April.
