Tesla’s Phone App Could Soon Support Its LA Diner, Insurance Discounts, And More

Tesla appears to be readying its phone app for new features and updates including support for the diner that the company has been working towards opening in Los Angeles.

According to a report by the EV-watchers at Electrek, a new update to the Tesla mobile app has set the wheels in motion to add some new changes including new support for that diner.

An in-app render of what the diner will look like has been added to the app, as spotted by Tesla App Updates.

They also discovered that there is the potential for a new insurance deal that could see companies offer discounts when drivers use the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature.

More code found in the latest version of the Tesla mobile app suggests that it could soon customize a vehicle’s range estimation based on information like its age and current mileage.

Your vehicle must be connected to the internet to calculate the expected range based on age and mileage.

Other tidbits teased include a new, cheaper version of the Cybertruck that will offer rear-wheel drive only as well as a smaller battery. The app hints that the truck will have a manual tonneau cover and the option to have outlets in the truck’s bed. As for when that truck will launch, the current expectation is that it will arrive later this year.
