Tesla Model 3 Highland 2024 Refresh US Launch Seems Imminent

Tesla announced the refreshed 2024 Highland version of the Model 3 in the summer of 2023 and since then those who want to buy one in the United States have been left playing a waiting game.

The updated model is currently only being built in Gigafactory Shanghai, leaving customers in Asia and Europe as the only ones able to buy it. However, it now appears that a US launch could be just around the corner.

That’s after it was discovered that Model 3 Highland EVs are being driven around with fake Tesla China badges on the trunk. In reality, the vehicles were built at Tesla’s Fremont factory as noted by one Reddit user who was able to get close enough to one to spot the VIN.

The upshot of this is that it appears Tesla is building test batches of the Model 3 Highland at the Fremont facility, suggesting that it will only be a matter of time before we can expect that the Highland refresh will go on sale for those in the United States.

The updated Model 3 Highland comes with a sleeker look that makes it more battery-efficient, with an overall change to the front bumper and light arrangement making for a more modern look than the version of the Model 3 currently sold.

Refresh Model 3 spotted at Tesla Engineering Fremont on December 17. Has a 2023 Fremont VIN, but Chinese Tesla badge on the trunk.
