You could be forgiven for thinking that Minecraft is slowly but surely taking over the world, after all, there doesn't seem to be a day to go by that I don't see some mention of it on my Twitter timeline or some forum. For those who may have been living under the largest rock known to mankind, or just don't take interest in that kind of thing, Minecraft is essentially a block building game allowing participants to build pretty much anything that their heart desires.

Whenever people talk about console-based video gaming these days, it seems to be the Call Of Duty franchise that gets the most attention. Granted, the COD games grow in popularity with every release, and the Modern Warfare series has certainly become one of the most popular series of games around the globe, but that doesn't stop die hard fans from craving some more game-time with one of video games’ most iconic heroes - The Master Chief.
Originally released on November 22nd, 2005, the Xbox 360 has been around for just over six years now. Sure, there have been multiple variations of the 360 that have been launched during that six year period - such as the Elite, Arcade, and the sleek, thinner S - but there is yet to be a major revision to its hardware. That being said, Microsoft's huge focus as of late with the Xbox 360 has been software. At E3 of last year, several major updates to the 360's software were announced and subsequently released, such as Live TV, a redesigned, Metro-inspired dashboard, voice commands, and improvements pertaining to the Kinect.
With the release of any new piece of consumer technology, especially an eagerly anticipated release, we expect a certain amount of rumors and speculations going side by side with it. However, as the conjecture flies in from all different angles, it sometimes becomes difficult to establish what is actually based on some form of reality and what is purely fabrication. The release of the next generation Xbox console is hot news, and rightly so in our opinion considering the current 360 is one of the world’s most popular consoles with millions of gamers around the world using it on a daily basis.
With the Xbox 360 being initially unveiled to the world in 2005, the time is fast approaching for Microsoft to bring their next generation Xbox console to the market place. There can be no denying that consumers are more than ready for a new gaming console, but the prospect of a new gadget from Microsoft inevitably bring about a flurry of speculation surround the specifications.

Don't you just love the rumor roundabout? We live in such an age where technology plays such a huge role in our everyday lives that the public is literally chomping at the bit to snap up the latest gadget or piece of kit, if not only in the hope that it can make our lives a bit easier, but to hold our heads high knowing we have the latest tech. The technology industry has been focusing on Cupertino based Apple in the last few weeks with iPad, iPhone and iTV murmurings floating about, but today is Microsoft's turn to get some of the rumor action.
