Speculation has been mounting over the last few weeks about the possible release date, aesthetics and technical specifications of the next-generation iPhone. Apple will be delighted with the fact that the iPhone 5 proved to be an extremely popular purchase during the festive season, with some analysts predicting that sales will ultimately surpass the company's top-end predictions. To add to the speculation; new reports are now suggesting that Apple could be planning on pushing out a new iPhone by June of this year, potentially with high-end and low-end model releases.
Even though the iPhone 5 has only hit shelves a few months ago, Apple is for sure already looking a few generations ahead and getting ready to introduce the next iPhone model. We likely won’t hear a word from the Cupertino company for some long months, but it’s never too soon to start speculating.
The biggest names in the financial industry tend to have no qualms with delivering projection where Apple is concerned, which is, I suppose, only natural given the Cupertino's status as the most valuable company. Corroborating predictions made by Jeffries analyst Peter Misek last month, in which he indicated 6-8 different color options with the next-generation iPhone, Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White also thinks Apple may offer different screen sizes of its iconic handset.
There's a depressing inevitability about the talk of the iPhone 5S so soon after the release of the iPhone 5. Still, with Apple having released the iPad 4 just seven months after the March launch of the iPad 3, we should perhaps expect another swift update from the Cupertino company. Jeffries analyst Peter Misek - famed for commenting on future products of the fruit company - has waded into the pool of iPhone 5S rumors by suggesting it could be arriving as soon as June, with a better camera and NFC among other features.
The iPhone 5 may only have been out for just shy of two months, but that hasn't stopped the talk of its eventual successor. Following on from suggestions a couple of weeks ago that the next-gen iPhone would release in the first half of next year, it has now been reported the handset could be launching in the summer of 2013.
The iPhone 5 has now been with us for approximately seven weeks but if you thought you were going to be sitting at the cutting edge of smartphone technology for a substantial period of time, then a report coming out of China could pour some cold water on that thought. A story coming from the Commercial Times is suggesting that Apple have no intention of resting on their laurels when it comes to updating and upgrading their iPhone hardware and could be planning on initiating a trial production run of iPhone 5S handsets as early as next month.
