The next-generation HTC One is expected to make its debut later on next month, and with Samsung having laid its cards on the table with the introduction of the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress, the HTC One 2 will have the opportunity to upstage its fiercest rival in Android space. Today, as well as yet another leak showcasing the device - which does indeed boast two rear-facing cameras - HTC has also delivered a new video talking about the improvements made to the BoomSound technology for the One's eventual successor. Teasingly, the key details are obscured, but if you've been looking forward to the next big thing from HTC, it's now just a few weeks away.
A new flagship device is almost invariably exciting if you’re a tech junkie, and we all at Redmond Pie surely are, even if we don’t plan on getting our hands on every new device that sees the light of day. Yesterday, we brought to you news of HTC One’s successor - a device that has so far been recognized only by its codename, M8 - being leaked in high-quality press images courtesy of the reliable leakster Evleaks, and today, another image has surfaced, thanks to the same source.
The HTC One was regarded by many as the best smartphone on the market last year, and despite the subsequent release of other main players like the Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung and Apple's iPhone 5s, quite a few still consider this to be the case. The Taiwanese outfit's success with the One provided a much-needed bit of respite following a steady decline in market share prior, and recently, we've been hearing that it's successor - unofficially dubbed the HTC One 2 - is en route to market. Today, courtesy of a leaked photo, we may have our first legitimate glimpse at the eagerly-anticipated handset.
I use the HTC One and iPhone 5s on a daily basis, and although there are other nice-looking handsets on the market, the general consensus is that these are two of the most beautiful currently available. But while the Apple flagship is merely four months old, the One is heading towards the latter stages of its tenure, and consumers are already eagerly waiting to see what's next from the Taiwanese company. A few rumors have been floating about with nothing really set in stone as yet, but a new HTC One M8 concept dreamt up by Google+ user Nikolai Prettner has well and truly blown us away. Check it out after the break!
The HTC One has definitely been this year's surprise package. With the Taiwanese company struggling to deal with the tidal wave of high-end Samsung handsets flooding the market, as well as Apple's iPhone, it was looking like the quietly brilliant maker of Incredible, Desire smartphones was about to fall by the wayside. But offering the slickness of a Galaxy S, allied to design finesse that even the Cupertino company would be proud of, the HTC One has won many awards, and is considered by many to be the smartphone of the year. So, what's next?
