It’s been only a week since Motorola launched its top of the line Droid phone on Verizon in United States. This new generation of CDMA mobile has quickly gained a higher popularity graph, and was well received against the HTC Droid Eris also launched on the same day. Simultaneous launch of the two Droid phones by Verizon on same day wasn’t really a coincidence, but done intentionally to attract different type of audiences.

It has only been a week since the launch of the highly advertised DROID phones on Verizon – the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris. Interestingly Verizon decided to launch both the handsets on the same day to attract different type of audiences. While it may have attracted some, it also generated a confusion as to which device was better than the other. Both the devices are equipped with all the hardware features that one would expect from them. This includes, a high resolution capacitive multi-touch screen, 5 mega-pixel camera and so on. The search engine giant Google has officially unveiled their new Android 2.0 platform today which brings in lots of new enhancements to the open source operating system. Developers can now go ahead and download the new SDK to start developing and testing their apps against the new platform.
Google has kept quite on the subject of Chrome OS since its initial announcement in July of this year, but apparently, an unstable version of Google Chrome OS Browser from Google Chrome OS Build 28902 has been leaked by Jonathan Frederickson of Living in a Google World, and is now available for download. Stephanie Hannon – Product Manager of Google Wave has just sent out an update (tweet) to her followers via twitter confirming that Google has just started sending out invitations for Wave. It will take Google hours before they complete sending out invites to about 100,000 users today.
Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration which was first unveiled at Google I/O conference in May. Wave is basically Google’s attempt at how email would look if it were invented today. Google will officially roll out Wave (Preview) to the first 100,000 users who have signed up for the service through Wave site (http://wave.google.com), to developers who are already enrolled in developer preview program of Wave, and selected paying customers of Google Apps.
Google normally changes its logo on the Google.com homepage to mark important events. Today, it mysteriously changed its homepage logo to a UFO with a link to the search terms "unexplained phenomenon" leaving many wondering what event the doodle is intended to represent.

At Wordwide Partner Conference in New Orleans, Microsoft announced the technical preview of Microsoft Office 2010. Concurrently, Microsoft also revealed more details about Office Web Apps. The apps are lightweight, browser-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
