Facebook Messenger for iOS and Android have long since supported the use of Stickers, and as of today, those using the Web version of the integrated instant messaging system should have no problem accentuating their text with one of those annoying, yet also rather endearing little faces. Although Stickers aren't something everybody is going to use, they do offer a little bit of fun and harmless immaturity, and having been successfully trialed on the two major mobile operating systems, Zuck and his team has rolled the feature out across the board.
Facebook 5.0 for Windows Phone has finally crawled out of beta, and is now ready for the consumption of WP users far and wide. The tiled interface, as many of you will probably know, has made way for a much more universal appearance, although the app in general still offers a look very much suited to the Windows Phone platform in general. All of the details, as well as that all-important download link, can be found after the leap!
Flipboard and Facebook are two platforms, if not apps, that don’t need any introduction. While Facebook has been around for more than a while and has a far larger footprint in the digital world than anything else, Flipboard debuted on iOS and redefined the concept of a social news reader, expanding later on into Android and other popular platforms. Now, it seems that both of these are officially making way into the Windows 8 sphere as well, where both the apps were showcased today at BUILD 2013, right beside the Windows 8.1 Preview download announcement.
As part of Facebook's ongoing efforts to expand its mobile prowess, the social network is plotting a news service for smartphones and tablets. The app will, according to insiders of The Wall Street Journal, take a very similar form to the popular Flipboard, helping users dissect and digest the news in a neat, easy-to-read format. It’s safe to say that Facebook is preparing itself well to take over the crown of Google Reader, which will shut down on the first of July. More details can be found right after the jump.
Facebook is always looking to improve and update its market-leading social network, and as part of that, it looks as though the ability to add images into comments is forthcoming. Users of the world's foremost social network can already to as such with their status updates, but this new update, which will initially roll out on the Web, will allow images to be added to comments as well.
Facebook iOS updates are an interesting phenomenon. On one hand we could be in for a complete redesign at a moment's notice and on the other we might be getting stickers - or oversized emojis to you and I. Today's Facebook update brings some new features to the iPhone and iPad, but we do find ourselves struggling to get too excited this time around.
Facebook and Twitter are easily the two largest social networks in the world, but while the former commands the lion's share of a user base, both seem differential enough for folks to use both alongside each other. In recent times, however, we've seen Facebook borrow many features from The Twitters, and today, Zuck's team has added the famous hashtagging experience to Facebook.
Facebook has long since been the world's most visited social network, and rather than just offering the official app alongside a separate Messenger service, the social network has sought to go to town with its deep integration with the introduction of the Facebook Home APK for Android, which arrived two months back along with some other interesting features. Opinion has been mixed hitherto, with the new implementations having experienced quite a few teething issues on Google's fragmented platform, but today, Zuck's team has released a significant update to both Facebook and Facebook Home for Android. Details after the break.
Facebook Chat is one of the most heavily used instant messaging protocols around right now, partly thanks to the fact that just about everyone on the planet seems to have a Facebook account. That, coupled with the fact that there are chat enabled Facebook apps for all the major mobile players means that it's not going to go away any time soon.
New app updates are always exciting, and today saw a new version of the Facebook for iOS app hit the App Store. More details and the download link can be found right after the jump.
