The first big Xbox One system update, which arrived earlier this month, was released in order to prepare gamers for the release of Titanfall, but there were other key implementations besides. Twitch, the streaming service that allows gamers to capture and share their progress with the rest of the world, also rolled out onto the latest and greatest Microsoft console, and with the Game Developers Conference having just kicked off in San Francisco, Twitch has outlined its plans to hit the mobile gaming world – beginning with Asphalt 8 on iOS.

If you have spent time in the Games category of the iOS App Store looking for a fast-paced, adrenaline fuelled racing game then the chances are that you’ve at least tried Asphalt 8: Airborne. The arcade racing game is undoubtedly one of the most addictive offerings that we’ve had the pleasure of getting to grips with and has certainly managed to take mobile racing games to the next level. If the gorgeous graphics and nitrous fuelled fun wasn’t quite enough for you then the fact that the game has gone free-to-play should hopefully convince a hoard of new users to get in on the Asphalt action.

Gameloft has taken to the mobile industry like a duck to water, and with a wide range of different titles available for both iOS and Android, the company has built a solid reputation for high-end, graphically-intensive fare. Asphalt, a nitrous-charged racing game, has been a staple part of the company’s range for a number of years, and today, the company has released Asphalt 8: Airborne for both iOS and Android. In addition, the Paris, France-based developer has revealed that the game will soon be arriving for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, while also outlining its intention to port a multitude of titles over to Microsoft’s fledgling platforms.
