The Apple loving world had five days to recover from the announcements made by Tim Cook and his team during the media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts last Wednesday. The new iPad and Apple TV units are set to hit shelves around the world this Friday and if recent reports are anything to go by, then the user take up is set to be huge!
Although I am relatively still youthful and full of vitality and zest, I am old enough to remember the good old days of yester-year when technology was nowhere near as advanced or feature packed as it is now, but we were still blown away by being able to play block based games on the latest Motorola flip phone or set polyphonic ringtones on our Nokia. I will always remember bounding through the school gates on a Monday morning with my Nokia 3310 in hand, excited about showing classmates the 'Snake' game which came built in with it, feeling a sense of pride that I was one of the few to have a mobile telephone at school.
Ever since that media event on Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, consumers, bloggers, analysts - in fact everybody in and around the greater gadget-sphere has been talking about Apple's "new iPad" with scarcely any relent.
When Apple held its media briefing earlier this week, there was more on the agenda than just a new iPad. Those who have kept up on the events of Wednesday will already know that a new Apple TV was also announced, and it has a trick up its sleeve.
During the course of the last year, there has been much speculation circulating Apple's future plans to delve into the fiercely competitive connected TV market, implementing features of its current products to create a purportedly new experience, unofficially dubbed "iTV".
Apple's new Apple TV appears to be the first product to come packed with a single-core A5 chip, according to reports.
Although the iPad has been a revolutionary product since the first iteration dropped some two years ago, it has, in the eyes of many, taken a backseat to the Cupertino company's smartphone.
Apple have just published a new advertisement showing off the new iPad in action. In typical Apple fashion, the ad focuses on one particular feature of the new tablet, which in this case is the high-resolution Retina Display. The ad perfectly shows off the prowess of the high-res display and its amazingness in real life.
In line with the recently updated iPad and iOS 5.1, Apple has also released an update to the iTunes content player/store, which brings a couple of minor new features as well as the usual array of bug fixes.
As I'm sure you will now be aware, Apple has finally showcased its upcoming iPad, complete with the Retina display, A5X chipset, and 4G LTE. No sooner does the tech world get a chance to digest the new features, does the fruit company reveal that its latest and greatest tablet is available to pre-order almost immediately. If you're an owner of an iPad or iPad 2, the chances are, you'll want to purchase this next one, which takes things to a whole new level - no matter which tasks you use your current iPad device for.
