Samsung Takes Another Jab At iPhone In Note 10 Video Showing Off Live Focus Video

Samsung continues its push to move Apple owners over to its Galaxy phones and its got a new ad that it thinks will help. The ad focuses on what Samsung calls Live Focus Video, and it’s something Apple’s iPhone can’t do, at least as standard.

The ad itself shows two people capturing video of a marriage proposal. One of them has a Galaxy Note 10 while the other is using an iPhone. The Note 10 owner is able to capture video using the Live Focus Video feature, which adds a blur effect to the background. It looks pretty impressive, and of course, the iPhone can’t compete.

The ad then delivers its point, saying “Missing a little… je ne sais quoi? Switch to the Galaxy Note10. And fall in love with Live Focus Video.”

Apple’s iPhones can capture still images with a DoF effect using the Portrait Mode, but video isn’t something it can apply the effect to. At least, the stock Camera app can’t. While most people won’t use it, the FilMiC Pro app can do pretty much what Samsung is gloating about, although iPhone owners will need to buy the app separately if they want to take advantage of it. Galaxy Note 10 have it stock.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is available right now and starts at $949. Apple’s recently announced iPhone 11 Pro kicks off at $999 and goes on sale this Friday, September 20th. Whether people will choose the Galaxy Note 10 in order to get this feature, however, we’re not really sure.
