If you were expecting a full iPhone 4 recall from Apple, you will be disappointed. Buy hey, something is better than nothing right? Steve Jobs today at iPhone 4 press conference announced a free iPhone 4 bumper for every iPhone 4 user. If you have already bought a bumper, you will get full refund. iOS 4.0.1 was released earlier today for iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. Fortunately for all iPhone unlockers, the baseband wasn’t upgraded from 05.13.04, which means you can unlock your iPhone even on the latest iOS 4.0.1 firmware. Since currently there is no jailbreak tool available for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), and the current jailbreak tools for iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) are not compatible with iOS 4.0.1, so the only device which can currently be jailbroken and unlocked on iOS 4.0.1 is iPhone 3G.
iOS 4.0.1 has been released for iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. While the iPhone 4 and 3GS users will have to wait for a new jailbreak tool, iPhone 3G can go ahead and jailbreak their phone on iOS 4.0.1 using Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5. Again, this is strictly for iPhone 3G only. All other iOS based devices will be jailbreakable once Comex releases his new jailbreak tool.
Apple today has released iOS 4.0.1 in a bid to fix the reception issue which has been plaguing iPhone 4 users since its launch last month. This new update addresses the reception issue which is experienced when the phone is tightly griped in the left hand.
iOS 4.0.1 has just been released by Apple for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G to fix the reception issues which has been problematic for most iPhone 4 users since its launch last month. iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users who currently rely on an unlock MUST STAY from iOS 4.0.1 until any further notice. Updating to iOS 4.1 might result in update of baseband, which will potentially lock your phone. You wont be able to unlock it until a new exploit is found again.
Apple today has released iOS 4.0.1 to fix the much talked about iPhone 4 reception issue which has been plaguing users since its launch last month. Apart from this fix, nothing much has been added and so if you are an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G user, and you rely on a jailbreak and unlock, it is better to avoid this upgrade until new jailbreak and unlock tools are available. Comex – the guy behind Spirit jailbreak tool for iPad and iPhone / iPod touch is expected to release an update to Spirit, which will jailbreak iOS based devices on the latest firmware.
Apple today has released iOS 3.2.1 for iPad to fix the WiFi issue which was reported back when iPad was launched. This minor firmware update has also patched the userland jailbreak exploit which was used by Spirit jailbreak tool. So if you love your jailbroken iPad, avoid updating to iOS 3.2.1 until new all iOS device jailbreak tool is available for download.
This is just in! Apple has remained quiet on all the iPhone 4 issues that we have been hearing about. We all knew that they will have to do something.. and that too quick! And now according to The Loop, Apple has invited selected press to hold a special press conference where they will be talking about iPhone 4.
Let me clear this upfront. This is strictly for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G (non-MC model) only. If your iPhone 3G relies on an unlock, DO NOT update to iOS 4.1 Beta now as the current version of ultrasn0w cannot unlock this new firmware.
If you have iPhone 3G (which doesn’t rely on an unlock), or an iPod touch 2G (non-MC model), then simply follow the guide posted to below jailbreak your device on iOS 4.1 Beta using Redsn0w.
