Home automation has long been one of the things people point to when trying to explain what they think the future will look like. We'd have to put Google Glass in the same bracket - Glass is something that at the moment seems ahead of its time, but we can totally see it being the norm in another ten or twenty years, even if it doesn't take off all that quickly in the next two or three.
Guide on how you can install Plants Vs Zombies 2 on iPhone / iPad outside New Zealand and Australia right now without waiting for worldwide release.
Being a blogger, especially for the tech industry, time to time I come across utilities and tools that are so basic and simple in their working, yet package such convenience that one cannot help but question how we’d survived until now without such a thing. For people who play around a lot with Android and love to modify their devices, having multiple sets of different APKs on their computer is nothing too surprising or even worrisome. What’s annoying, however, is to have several APK files lying around in a folder that you cannot recognize, nor can you even tell what they are unless you install them.
HTC's One smartphone has caused something of a stir twice now. The first time was because it was released in its original guise, and mainly because it's a stunning Android phone and one of the big contenders for best Android phone on the market. The second time was because HTC launched it as a Google Play Edition handset, free of HTC's own software.
Instagram is easily among the most popular networks for sharing photos, but with the video clip social spot Vine having grown quite rapidly in the past few months, Facebook has just brought a similar feature to its recently-acquired Instagram app. Although many users have jumped at the chance of sharing clips and thus, taken advantage of the new feature, it is not without its limitations. For example, there is no support for sharing short clips already filmed and saved to the media library, but as is often the case with minor quibbles, there's a jailbreak tweak now available to remedy the issue. It is called InstaChooser, and you can catch the details after the break.
Apple's iPad mini is pretty much the undisputed king of the small tablet market at this point, and with good reason. Small, light, powerful and above all backed by the App Store, the iPad mini has a lot going for it. Even with all the good though, there's one tick in the bad column that many still find impossible to ignore: the lack of a Retina display.
It's not every day that a company like eBay launches a new app, mainly because it's already got apps on all the major platforms and apart from the odd redesign here and there, there's no need for any additional apps. Or is there?
Digital SLRs provide the most enhanced level of photography in the entire industry, but their almost inherent lack of Wi-Fi capability has seen lower-level point-and-shoot devices to fill in a gap for those serial sharers. Those familiar will recall the DSLR Controller app, which bridged the gap between Canon EOS shooters and the world wide web via an Android device, and now, Chainfire has come through another hacker's special involving a create-your-own Wi-Fi Stick.
Motorola's next, and possibly most anticipated smartphone ever, the Moto X, is currently in the middle of a rumor perfect storm that has seen the Google-owned hardware maker give out just enough information to be almost useless whilst the technology news industry manages to pick little tidbits up here and there. The latest photos to show up are considerably more than a tidbit, however.
Every year, a new product would surface, probably a new iteration of an existing line up, that would force you to either make an upgrade to the newer model, or at least have you drool all over looking at it. Tech giants use this technique a lot to ensure that their newer products remain in demand, and the biggest example that I would say for this is the 4th generation iPad. Honestly, there’s hardly anything different in the third iteration of the iPad from the Retina display one, but still it was reason enough for a lot of people to upgrade.
