October 4th is already looking like it could be a busy day for Google, with the date already inked in for the day the company will announce its new Pixel phones - the devices which will usher in the end of the Nexus line of smartphones. While launching a couple of new devices is no mean feat, it now appears that Google will have a cavalcade of hardware to show to the world, with new Chromecast with 4K capabilities, a WiFi router, and Google Home hardware on the horizon.
After initially being released in 28 countries on September 16th, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are today available to buy in a further 30 countries, with the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 1 now also in stores across an additional 20 countries. On top of all that, Apple Watch Series 2 Hermès is now available for the first time.

Google is getting ready to announce what it is believed will be not just one, but likely two new smartphones at an event scheduled for October 4th, and it now appears that there may be a distinctly iPhone-like feature coming to the newly renamed Pixel Launcher that is expected to run atop Android 7.1 the devices are expected to ship with. That new feature will seem instantly familiar to anyone who has used an iPhone 6s from last year or iPhone 7 from this year, although the way it is invoked may be slightly different in Google's case.
