Rumors are swirling about a major redesign for the Camera app in iOS 19. In a YouTube video, Jon Prosser shares details about the new design, which is said to take inspiration from visionOS for a sleeker, more modern look.
The updated interface focuses on simplicity and ease of use. At the bottom, there are two main toggles: “Photo” and “Video”. These let you switch between modes.
Within each section, you can access features like exposure settings and different shooting options. Meanwhile, the top of the screen houses quick controls for Live Photos, flash, resolution, and frame rate. A dedicated button to access your photo library is still included.
While Prosser couldn’t share the original footage of the redesign to protect his source, he recreated the design to give us a glimpse of what to expect. His video offers a detailed preview of how these updates could work in practice.
If this redesign becomes reality, iOS 19’s Camera app could offer a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if these changes make the final cut.
