Logitech FabricSkin Keyboard Folio Case Will Give Your iPad The Microsoft Surface Like Look [VIDEO]

If you’re an iPad owner with a slight yearning for a Microsoft Surface Pro, a new case from Logitech will at least help your device to achieve the appearance of the Redmond-designed tablet. The FabricSkin Keyboard Folio completely wraps your iPad, leaving behind the altogether more straight-edged look of the Surface, and as an added bonus, the keyboard element is also completely waterproof.

The famous peripheral maker has continually tapped into this market of developing Bluetooth keyboards for the iPad, and although Apple sees its flagship slate as a post-PC device and hence not in need of a physical keyboard, the strong sales of these third party offerings tell a contrasting story of market trends. Microsoft, meanwhile, hasn’t been so dismissive in this field, and with the Surface Pro enjoying a fairly strong start in the market since its January release, there’s much to be said for the continued inclusion of physical keys.

In typical Apple fashion, the keyboard on this Logitech case is beautifully backlit, and with what appear to be very large keys, even the clumsiest of typists should be able to churn out documents with relatively few errors:

Since there seems to be quite a bit of partisan affinity within the mobile market — in ecosystems perhaps more so than in devices and brands — it’s safe to assume a case emulating a Microsoft Surface is not for everyone. Those die-hard Apple fanboys would probably want to stay well away from what they may deem to be an almost contaminative product, but from our point of view, the vibrant colors on offer with the FabricSkin Keyboard Folio coupled with the sleek design and waterproofness of the keyboard make this case a sure-fire winner.

Often, such products are designed to make cheaper, alternative hardware efforts look like ‘an Apple’, but considering how much more a Surface Pro costs to buy, grabbing an iPad and dressing it up in the FabricSkin Keyboard Folio is actually the cheaper way to get that Microsoft look. Yes, you could get a Surface RT, but come on… seriously?

The FabricSkin Keyboard Folio will be available as of next month, with an SRP of $150, and a keyboard-less version will also arrive for both the iPad mini and full-sized iPad, at $60 and $70 respectively.
