iPhone 14 / Pro Vs iPhone 13 / Pro Battery Capacity Comparison

Apple’s new iPhones will all go on sale on Friday but you don’t need to wait until then to know what battery capacities each one boasts. All of the new iPhones feature larger batteries than their iPhone 13 counterparts except one.

In numbers shared by MacRumors and retrieved from a Chinese regulatory database, the new iPhone 14 battery capacities have all been confirmed ahead of their September 16 release.

According to those figured the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the only device to actually feature a smaller battery than last year, although the numbers aren’t radically different.

According to MacRumors, these are the iPhone 14 battery capacities.

  • iPhone 14: 3,279 mAh
  • iPhone 14 Plus: 4,325 mAh
  • iPhone 14 Pro: 3,200 mAh
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323 mAh

All models bar the iPhone 14 Pro Max have increased their battery capacity, with Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max actually reducing its capacity from the 4,352 mAh of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, Apple stills says that we should expect all-day battery life from the device and the new A16 Bionic is likely to save some energy compared to last year’s A15 Bionic — something that could help make that smaller battery less of an issue.

The iPhone 13 lineup’s battery capacities are as follows:

  • iPhone 13 mini: 2,406 mAh
  • iPhone 13: 3,227 mAh
  • iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095 mAh
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352 mAh

All of the new iPhones went up for pre-order last week following their announcement on September 7. Apple also announced the new Apple Watch Ultra as well as a new Apple Watch Series 8 during the same event. The Apple Watch SE also got a refresh, while Apple also updated its AirPods Pro earbuds, too.
