iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max Specs, Price, Release Date Announced
Apple has today announced the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, making them the best iPhones the company has sold to date.
The new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max both pack improved A16 Bionic chips compared to the A15 Bionic that comes in the non-Pro models, with Apple noting that it has two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores.
That means that the total six cores are 40 percent faster than the competition,” although Apple isn’t saying what that competition is. The chip also comes with five GPU cores, too.
All of that power is being used alongside a new camera system that includes a 48-megapixel main camera that has a “quad-pixel sensor that adapts to the photo being captured, and features second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization.”
Apple says that the camera will create 12-megapixel shots but with improved low light performance than previous generations. It’s effectively turning four pixels into one larger pixel, capturing more light as it goes. The camera also supports ProRAW at 48 megapixels, too.
The other cameras have also been upgraded, including new 12MP Ultra Wide camera with 1.4 µm pixels, an improved Telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom, and a new TrueDepth camera with better low light performance.
Around front, the new display is capable of a low 1Hz refresh rate, enabling the first always-on display mode to come to iPhone. Apple has also ditched the notch, replacing it with the Dynamic Island. The new space at the top of the screen displays information like notifications and alerts and is fully interactive. The feature is also open to third-party apps, too.
All of the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will be up for pre-order on Friday, September 9, with availability beginning Friday, September 16. Colors include deep purple, silver, gold, and space black, while capacities start at 128GB and go all the way to 1TB.
You can grab the two phones in Deep Purple, Silver, Gold, and Space Black colors.
Despite rumors, they’re both priced at the same level as the outgoing iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, meaning they start at $999 and $1,099 respectively.
