iOS 17.1.2 Battery Life Drain Test – Should You Update Your iPhone?

Apple regularly releases new versions of the iOS software update, some of them add new features, others fix bugs. Others are here just to help ensure that all of our iPhones remain as secure as possible.

But all of them have something in common — the battery life of the iPhone that they’re installed on will either get better or worse. And for some people, that’s a big deal.

If you’re using an iPhone whose battery life is poor you’re likely to hope that a future software update will improve matters. So if that’s the case, should you install the iOS 17.1.2 update? That’s something YouTuber iAppleBytes set out to figure out, so they put the update through a number of tests to find out the answer.

The test runs on a number of devices, some older, some newer, to see how things pan out. Each iPhone runs through the Geekbench 4 tests battery, and each iPhone is given time to run through its usual housekeeping process after the initial iOS 17.1.2 update is installed.

So how did things pan out? Well, we won’t ruin any of this for you so be sure to watch the video to get the full story and check out what you can expect from your own iPhone when you install this latest update. But remember that your mileage may vary, too.
