iOS 11.3.1 / 11.4 Jailbreak Detection Bypass For Banking And Other Apps Coming By Electra Team Member

If you’re an avid jailbreaker then you will no doubt already be well aware that being able to jailbreak your version of iOS is only half of the battle.

Even with the recently released Elextra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak now keeping people ticking along nicely, some apps will still refuse to work if they detect a jailbroken device.

These most notably include things like banking apps, but some games including Fortnite (although a bypass for it is available now separately here) also throw a fit when they realize that the device on which they are running has been hacked. That’s no fun, but there may be some light at the end of this particular tunnel.

As has been shared on Twitter by Pwn20wnd, a member of team Electra, it appears that there has been some sterling work done to ensure that most of the apps that have been causing issues on jailbroken devices will soon simply not be able to tell where they are running, removing the issues that many experience with the aforementioned banking apps or games.

The work that is making this possible has apparently been made possible by Umang Raghuvanshi, so he’ll be the man to thank when Electra has all your favorite apps working without issue soon enough.

There has been no indication as yet as to when that will be however, so it’s possible it is still a little way off coming to fruition. It’s heartening to know that such a win is in the pipeline though, especially if you’ve been holding off jailbreaking for this particular reason.

We will be sure to keep our ears to the ground and let you know when we learn more about this development.
