Factory Unlocked / SIM-Free iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus Prices In US, UK And Other Countries
Now that Apple has finally lifted the lid on what was possibly the worst kept secret in smartphone history, we can start looking into the things that actually matter to potential purchasers of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Tuesday’s media event offered us a whole heap of information to digest. Two new iPhones. The Apple Watch. A whole new payment system in Apple Pay. It even offered a free U2 album, but no matter how hard we try to focus on the event as a whole, we keep coming back to the screen sizes of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. So; when will they be released, and more importantly, how much will they cost as an outright purchase without a minimum term contract?
The live stream of Apple’s media event may have been plagued with technical issues, but it did a fairly comprehensive job of letting us know when the highly anticipated hardware will hit the shelves in various territories. Tim Cook alluded to the fact that the Cupertino company is extremely keen to make this the fastest iPhone rollout in the company’s history by attempting to get it into countries all over the world with great haste. However, like all releases that have come before it, the initial launch on Friday, 19 September will be limited to ten territories: the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico and Singapore. And on September 26, 15 more countries will join the league, which includes: Switzerland, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Luxembourg, Russia, Austria, Turkey, Finland, Taiwan, Belgium and Portugal. UAE, however, will see the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch on September 27.
For those territories lucky enough to be included in the first release there will inevitably be a number of proving structures for potential consumers. Individual carriers will look to offer the hardware for varying prices depending on the model and storage capacity, as well as the length of contract. However, the price obviously increases exponentially for those among us who look to purchase the hardware outright on an unlocked, SIM free basis. If you’ve already decided that you need that beautiful Retina HD display, 8-megapixel iSight camera and A8 processor in your life, then check out the prices for the individual models in your territory below.
