EA Offers Up To 40% Off On Android Gaming Titles For Father’s Day
To celebrate Father’s day this Sunday, video games publisher Electronic Arts – commonly referred to as simply EA – will be offering significant discounts on some of its most popular Android titles including FIFA 12, Need for Speed, Plants vs. Zombies and Dead Space.
Although EA has been around for decades on a variety of platforms, it has been steadfast in its approach to mobile, and if you’re still stuck on what to buy your dad for father’s day, a couple of cheap Android titles might just do the trick.
FIFA, for the uninitiated, is a soccer simulator, and although the mobile edition doesn’t quite match the console variation in terms of gameplay or visuals, it’s still a highly entertaining experience. You can play against random opponents online, friends or relatives via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or if you’re not in a particularly competitive mood, simply guide your team through an entire season in order to win all of the available trophies.
Plants vs. Zombies is the front lawn version of a tower defense title, and having initially made a name for itself back in the early days of Apple’s iOS, it has been a feature of many mobile device users’ home screens for the last few years now. The visual elements are rather charming, and the game is challenging enough to keep you interested for a good couple of hours.
Need For Speed needs very little introduction, but if you aren’t familiar, your goal is to achieve whichever task is set (evade the cops, chase other cars, that kind of thing), by driving as quickly as you can. In simple terms, you can drive recklessly, and do all of the things you’re not allowed to do on the real roads.
Finally, Dead Space is a very addictive third-person shooter, and has many unique quirks and elements. Based loosely on the console iteration which released back in 2008, you have to guide one Isaac Clarke through a set of environments within a ship swamped with the Necromorphs, a zombie-esque species derived from a combination of corpses and alien virus.
All four are now significantly cheaper, thus rendering them a more appealing Father’s day gift, and hey, if you want to buy them for yourself instead, we promise we won’t tell!
