Download: macOS 10.15 Catalina Supplemental Update Released

Apple has released a new macOS 10.15 Catalina supplemental update. The update is supposed to fix some pretty problematic issues that users experienced when trying to install Catalina in the first place.

Anyone with macOS Catalina installed can get their hands this update now, while developers are already testing their apps on macOS 10.15.1.

Apple’s rundown of changes in this update includes:

The ‌macOS Catalina‌ Supplemental Update includes installation and reliability improvements, and is recommended for all users.

This update:
– Improves installation reliability of ‌macOS Catalina‌ on Macs with low disk space
– Fixes an issue that prevented Setup Assistant from completing during some installations
– Resolves an issue that prevents accepting iCloud Terms and Conditions when multiple ‌iCloud‌ accounts are logged in
– Improves the reliability of saving Game Center data when playing Apple Arcade games offline

It isn’t clear when macOS 10.15.1 will be available to the public but this supplemental update should keep us ticking over nicely ahead of that. The fixes that will make installing Catalina a more comfortable experience are most welcome, with iCloud issues also hopefully killed off with the supplemental update in place.

Apple released macOS Catalina last week and while plenty of people have updated without issue, others have had the complete opposite experience. Others have warned users off updating to Catalina just yet, especially given the fact it removes support for 32-bit apps completely. If you rely on an app that hasn’t been updated you might want to avoid Catalina for now.
