You can now download iOS 17.0.1 IPSW links, OTA profile update for iPhone, iPadOS 17.0.1 for iPad. Here are the details.

Apple has today released two new iOS updates aimed at replacing the recent iOS 17 release and people can’t even install one of them until tomorrow.

On top of the iOS 17.0.1/iPadOS 17.0.1 release that can be downloaded by everyone with a compatible device, Apple has also now released iOS 17.0.2 which is a new update that is specifically targeted at the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.

Both of these new updates arrived just a few days after Apple also released iOS 17 to the public.

The new updates are available for download for free now via the Settings app by heading to General > Software Update. Apple says that these updates are all about providing bug fixes and important security updates, including for issues that have been exploited in the wild.

Those issues include one that could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges in terms of the Kernel. Another bug allowed WebKit to be forced to run arbitrary code.

As ever, we’d suggest installing these new updates as soon as possible, especially given the potential security implications at play.

None of these releases will affect the prospects of a jailbreak, if that’s something you’re worried about, and it’s always a good idea to run the most recent version of iOS to ensure that you aren’t susceptible to any security issues or the bugs that Apple regularly kills off.
