Download: Beta 1 Of macOS 10.12.2, watchOS 3.1.1, tvOS 10.1 Released

Apple has released beta 1 of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, watchOS 3.1.1 and tvOS 10.1 to registered developers of Apple Developer Program.

This release comes hot on the heels of iOS 10.1.1 bug fix release to public from earlier today, and iOS 10.2 beta 1 release to developers seeded only minutes ago. Here we’ll take a quick look at new feature changes (if any) in these beta updates released today for Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV devices.

macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 1

The latest version 10.12.2 beta 1 of macOS Sierra is available to download now both from Apple Developer Program portal and through the software update mechanism available in the Mac App Store. As of this time, it’s not clear as to what changes does macOS Sierra 10.12.2 includes. Since it’s a minor point update, it will likely only include bug fixes and performance improvements over the previous 10.12.1 release, along with better support for Touch Bar and Touch ID equipped MacBook Pros that will soon be in consumers hands. While Apple hasn’t released 10.12.2 to public beta testers yet, it’s only a matter of time before the Cupertino-based company makes macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 1 seed available to those registered on Apple Beta Software Program.

watchOS 3.1.1 beta 1

Only a week after watchOS 3.1 was released to public, Apple today has released watchOS 3.1.1 beta 1 to developers. Those who have the configuration profile installed for watchOS beta updates can head into Watch app > General > Software Update on their iPhone right now to grab watchOS 3.1.1 beta 1 OTA for their Apple Watch.

It’s currently not known what new features or changes have Apple packed in this update for Apple Watch users. Given the minor point update nature of watchOS 3.1.1, it will likely only include minor bug fixes and improvements over previous watchOS 3.1 release.

tvOS 10.1 beta 1

The first tvOS 10.1 beta doesn’t appear to include the all new “TV” app which Apple announced only recently at its media event. There is no sign of Single-sign on feature either. Though the framework for the feature appears to be included in tvOS 10.1 beta. Apple has promised to make “TV” app as well as Sign-sign on feature available to all Apple TV users by the end of this year.

For those who have configuration profile for tvOS beta updates installed via iTunes, tvOS 10.1 beta 1 can be downloaded over-the-air from the software update mechanism right from Apple TV itself.
