You can use it to connect to applications like Skype, Windows Live Messenger, YouTube and any other app which supports webcam feature. This app is currently compatible to work on Windows PCs only. Support for Mac might come sometime in future.
Its finally here ! The newly released Skype 2.0 for iPhone enables the much awaited VoIP calls over 3G network. This feature though will only be free to use until August 2010, after which a small fee (via in-app purchase perhaps?) will apply. Carrier charges of course will cost extra. While replying to a tweet, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that an unlock for iPhone 3G/3GS on 05.12.01 baseband will be released once Apple announces the new iPhone along with final GM version of iPhone OS 4. This announcement is expected to be made at WWDC 2010 so it wont be long before we finally get our iPhones unlocked on this baseband.
According to the sources at TechCrunch, the next version of iPhone OS, which is set to release this June will have Bing as its default search engine in Mobile Safari. Though the whole leaked iPhone 4G / HD fiasco might’ve spoiled quite a lot of fun for some, but now according to this latest report by DigiTimes, Apple already has a backup design for their new iPhone 4G / HD which looks quite a lot like the current iPhone 3G/3GS design. Redsn0w has just been updated to beta 4 to support the latest iPhone OS 4 Beta 4 firmware. iPhone OS 4 Beta 4 was released by Apple last week, which since Beta 2 has closed the jailbreak loophole used by Redsn0w 0.9.5b1 and b2 to jailbreak OS 4. But with this latest version of redsn0w, you should be able to jailbreak iPhone OS 4 again on iPhone 3G.
Engadget has got this latest scoop in which a source close to them has confirmed that the next iPhone is confirmed to have video calling/chat and that this feature will be the highlight of the first of ads that will go on air after June 7. This series of ads will be directed by Sam Mendes who was the director behind American Beauty and Jarhead. He will also be directing the next James Bond movie.
